Ivy B Promoting on You Gotta Read

Hello and Happy Friday to you Sweet Bees

this...the last Friday of the year and my last promo day of the year. I will be promoting Baby, You're Cold Inside around the cyber universe a bit more come January but, this will be my last one for 2012.

Today, I'm over at

the site that gave me my lovely 4.5/5 review for The Fifth Story.  The book I'm currently promoting, Baby, You're Cold Inside, is very different thematically than The Fifth Story and a lot shorter, but I hope, to my fine readers, no less entertaining.

That's really all I have for now. I've got a 1000 things to do before we head off on Saturday to visit family in another province, which is why, if you've seen where I was supposed to be soon, I've had to postpone a couple of my blog dates. Sorry my Bees, I just don't have time to be everywhere.

So, until next time,

Ivy B wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year

Ivy B Making An Executive Decision

Hello and Happy Christmas Eve Sweet Bees

I know the title of my blog post isn't festive, but the reason for it is that because I'm honestly not sure when the Breathless Press Naughty blog hop is could be could be midnight...I'm making a decision to pick a winner now because I've a 1000 things to do today and if I don't do it now, it won't get done!

So...I've picked a winner using Random.Org and now send Congratulations D O' will be contacted soon!

I will now take the time to wish you all the happiest of holidays. It's hard sometimes, depending on your year or who you're surrounded by or where you live, to get in the spirit and I'll be honest, even though we've had a lot of good this year, we've had a lot of not so good and sometimes the not so good hits me very hard. However, even mixed in the not so good is the joy of being with family that I adore. Thinking about being surrounded by people that mean so much to me, pushes the not so good away and the spirit of the season fills me with happiness.

I'll be back later in the week, but until then,

Ivy B saying Merrry Christmas Sweet Bees!

And thank-you for being a big part of the very good in my year.

Ivy B Having a Busy Saturday

And it's not just because it's the Saturday before Christmas my Sweet Bees. No! No!

It's because today I'm

1.) Visiting with Allie A Burrow. It's a promo for Baby, You're Cold Inside and a giveaway! (of that very book!) So stop come on over and see what's what!

2.) I'm also over at the erotic writer's website Behind Closed Doors and to do a little promo on their blog The Erotic Connection.

3.) I'm participating in this...

It's just  bit of Christmas fun and to celebrate the season in a naughty style, the theme of this blog hop is well...being naughty.  I'm supposed to tell you a tale of something wicked I did as a child, or teenager...or last week, but I must confess that I'm quite dull and not one for tricks. I was always very well behaved as a child and never really did anything super bad... time my Mum caught me drinking the dribbles out of the wine glasses before I washed them out. I think I was 12 or 13. She scolded me and said that was a good way to become an alcoholic. I felt such shame that I only did it a couple more times. No...that's not true. I felt such shame that I didn't do it again...ever.

Oh and I skipped class, once, in high school to go buy a Phantom of the Opera cassette. I'd had a particularly bad drama performance and I felt the only way to heal the deep wound that still pains from time to time was a dose of "Music of the Night".

I know-I'm hard core bad. If those things didn't get me on Santa's Naughty List, I don't know what would have.

So, this blog hop is of course a giveaway. If you're interested in winning a copy of Baby, You're Cold Inside, my most recent release, than please enter my contest. All you have to do is become a follower on my blog or on Twitter (if you aren't already), or like me on Facebook (if you don't already) OR subscribe to my blog (if you haven't already done so). So many ways to for you to be part of my Ivy coloured world. And of course, comment with your email address. At some point on Monday...I'm not sure what time this officially ends, I will pick a winner using the handy and contact them asap.

Ok, so below this should be list of all of us who are participating today. Please hop to another Breathless Press Author Blog and join in the Naughty Christmas Fun.

Until next time,

Ivy B wishing Happy Hopping and a very Merry Christmas

And a very happy Friday to you all! Is it not glorious? Is it not a wonderful day? Wasn't The Hobbit a fantastic movie?? Oh weren't with me when I saw it last night, but you should have been! It was amazing! If you haven't seen it and you were, are or whatever a LOTR fan, go! Go now! BUT...not before you go to Breathless Press (please) and buy your very own copy of

It's a lovely day...

And  busy one which is why I'm going to stop talking soon and send you off to

where I do a bigger post in celebration of my latest release.

It's really been a successful year for me, writing wise. And when I say successful, I don't mean because I've released three books, but successful in that I'm a writer at all! This path sort of presented itself to me out of no where, but I'm glad it did. It's lead to many wonderful places. Thank-you to all of you who have support me along the way. What next year will bring?? Who knows?

What I do know is that tomorrow I'll be busy! Breathless Press is having a weekend Blog Hop! All the authors participating are giving away prizes so be sure to come on by for that. I'll also be hanging out on two other blogs! Busy Bee times for Ivy.

Have a wonderful Friday Sweet Bees.

Until tomorrow,

Ivy B thanking everyone for a wonderful writing year

Ivy B In A Great Big Hurry!

Hello my Sweet Bees

It's a super rushed kind of afternoon, but I just have to do a post! Big Day! Big Day! I received a wonderful 4.5 star review for The Fifth Story on You Gotta Read! If you're interested, I've linked to it on the right side of my blog.

And tomorrow, of course, another big day! Baby, You're Cold Inside is coming to your cyber world! Whoo! Hoo! I'm very excited about this book. It's based on, well...more like in the spirit of another story (A Christmas Carol) which is something I've never done before. Also, it's told in present tense which is another thing I've never done before. A whole lot of new coming your way!

However, that's all I have for you today, my Sweet Bees. Tonight, I'm off to see The Hobbit and I'm very excited and a little sentimental. 11 years ago, almost to the day (just 2 days shy actually), my daughter, who was not quite 2 months at the time, was left in the care of two of my dear friends while my husband and I went to see the first Lord of the Rings movie. And now, here we are, at the start of a new trilogy and this time we can share this exciting experience directly with our daughter. I'm not going to go on and on about time and passing and know how it is...but it is a big night for us as a family. We're huge Tolkien nerds and tonight we get to play with other nerds.

Until tomorrow,

Ivy B putting on her Hobbit feet and drooling over Thorin Oakenshield.

Ivy B Sharing Her Blog with Mary Corrales

Hello and good Tuesday to you Sweet Bees

Today I have a very special guest on my blog. She's been here before and I'm happy to have her back! Please Welcome Mary Corrales! (applause, applause) Take it away Mary!

Hi Ivy, Thanks for letting me visit your readers. If you don't mind, I thought I'd share my letter to Santa with them and see what they think. Here goes…

Dear Santa,

I've been naughty.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you about all my naughty deeds. Yes, I've kissed a man or two this year.

Yes, I've flirted with dozens more, I can assure you not a single one minded.

I know I've had wicked thoughts throughout the year, but please remember that I'm a professional writer and must think of sex often. I assure you it's strictly business. No, I did not just snicker.

I've tried to be nice to others as you said, and do one good deed unto my fellow man each day.

Finding a man to do a good deed unto isn't always easy though. We might need to talk about that one again. Does the same man multiple times, count?

Anyway, I look forward to your visit. I recently bought sparkly gold, high heel shoes on sale. I know you like silver and gold, so I'll wear them for you on Christmas when you stop by.
our peanut butter kiss cookies will be warm from the oven when you arrive. Please don't be pass me by.

Here's wishing all of Ivy's lovely Bees a wonderful Holiday and a very Merry Christmas.  Whether celebrating with family and friends or just by yourself, may you be blessed with all the goodness and joy of the Season.

My goodness...well judging by your letter Mary,  I'm afraid that it is clear that you have been a very naughty girl this year..BUT That's Ok! Who of us out there hasn't at least been a little bit bad this year? Many of us may be facing an empty stocking this Christmas due to our not so saintly behavior. However, in your case Mary, I think your letter and honest confession of naughtiness to Santa will not drive him away at all. More likely, you'll have a big sack of goodies waiting for you under your tree this year because of this letter! Keep up the good work!

For those of you who are not familiar with Mary's work, you should check out her website  Mary Corrales: Romance Author Lifestyle.

Mary's work is available for purchase at

Breathless Press
and more!

If you have someone very naughty on your list and you have yet to buy a gift for them, on of Mary's books would make an excellent gift!

Thank-you very much for stopping by Mary! And once again, I'd like to thank everyone who hopped on by during the blog hop I participated in on the weekend. I'll be emailing the winner of my contest very soon! (If I haven't already!)

Until next time,

Ivy B getting ready for a very busy week!

Ivy B Blog Hopping & Promoting Her Book Trailer!

Yes, that's right Sweet Bees!

I finally finished my book trailer for Baby, You're Cold Inside coming to cyber shelves everywhere this Friday, December, 21/12! And, in case you're wondering, it is available for pre-order now at Breathless Press.

But first, before I post it...I'm still blog hopping away with the Blog Hop Spot's Purrrfectly Giftastic Blog Hop!

The Blog Hop Spot's Christmas Blog Hop

I'd like to thank all of you who have come on Ivy B Misbehavin this weekend and entered my contest. If you're just joining in the blog hop fun, please take the time to enter my blog hop contest.  My contest is simple; just become a follower on my blog (if you're not already), or follow me on twitter (if you don't already) or like my facebook page (if you don't like me yet) and then leave a comment with your email address. Tomorrow morning, using a random number picker from the handy, I will chose one lucky winner.

And then of course, after you've entered my contest, please use the link above and hop around to the blogs of the other many, many authors who are participating in the Christmas blog hop.

And NOW (drum roll...or counter top roll...or gymasticky type roll..) my book trailer for Baby, You're Cold Inside!

I know that this book trailer doesn't say "Hey there Sexy Book..." but it's fun and was a leap of faith. In order to create this book trailer I had to have my husband (who is a fantastic artist and animator) teach me the basics of the program FLASH in order for me to create the oh so fantastic drawings in my book trailer. I say leap of faith because I'm not a very patient student, at least when my husband is trying to show me something, and often if it's my husband and I and a computer in between, it's all out war. However, everything worked out and I managed to learn with minimal squabbling.

However, before he showed me how to use the program, he volunteered to do the drawings for me, (perhaps as a preemptive strike against possible fighting) but no..I wanted to wow you with my mad (and when I say mad I mean mad as in crazy bad and not crazy good) artistic skills and do them all on my own. I'm quite pleased with the end result. It's fun and very silly, but that, my dear Sweet Bees, is me. :) Ok...not always the FUN because I can be quite the cranky pants a great deal of the time, but definitely the SILLY.

Enjoy the video and then hop to another blog!

Until next time,

Ivy B working on her guest post for Linda Kage with all speed since she COMPLETELY FORGOT to do it on the weekend.

Ivy B Working On a Book Trailer

Soon Sweet Bees...soon I should say...I will be working on my Baby, You're Cold Inside, book trailer.

It's not going to be very serious because well, this book isn't. It's a comedy, with erotica and a lot of sass. I hope it does well (hint, hint),but as I've said before in a guest post on another blog, once I deliver it to the universe, it doesn't just belong to me anymore and I can't force people to feel good or bad about it. It will be what it is...or something like that.

So, today being 12/12/12 I figured I should get a post up for you all. I didn't look at the clock at 12:12, but I did look at it at 12:40. Whoop-dee-do? Whoop-dee-don't my Sweet Bees. For some unknown universal law, I have been looking at the clock at 12:40 on a regular basis for almost 20 years. Why? Who knows. Who cares? Well, no one but me I suppose. But it's irritating. I'll wake from a dead sleep and it will be 12:40. I'll not look at my watch for hours and when I do it will be 12:40.

And no, it's not an internal clocky's a "it doesn't even matter what time zone or if we've just switched the clocks" kind of thingy. And as I said, it's been happening consistently for almost 20 years.

Does it mean anything? Probably not. It's just a weird quirky anomaly to go with my many other quirky anomalies such as: when the inside of my left elbow joint itches, the left side of my tongue itches. Ya, I know! I should take it on the road!

Ok, I'm off to the races, but not before I tell you a quick tale. In the first 10 years of my marriage, my husband I moved a lot and for many of those moves our friend...we'll simply call him J, helped us move (thank-you J!). During one move, J carried my basket of yarn to our new bedroom or the truck or someplace and on the way he said to my husband...

"What's in the basket? All your equipment for Wicked Wicker Wednesdays?" I've where J came up with that hilarious phrase and I don't know why I feel the need to share this wee tale. Perhaps because it's Wednesday, a unique Wednesday and because J is one of the most unique people I've ever met.

As a side note, J also assumed we kept a sex swing in a large trunk that we kept in our bedroom...

Have a lovely 12/12/12 my Sweet Bees. I'll be back by Friday with my Blog Hop post and hopefully with my new book trailer.

Until next time,

Ivy B looking for that basket of "yarn".

Ivy Should B Working on Christmas Cards...

Hello my darling Sweet Bees

As the title of this blog post suggests, I REALLY should be working on my Christmas cards. Normally by this time in December, I've popped them in the mail, but for some reason...I just haven't finished them yet. They're all addressed (I'm very good at getting them addressed) but now they are sitting in piles, waiting for a friendly greeting and wish of Christmas joy.

Later...I'll get to them later. I first wanted to check in and pop on and see how you were all doing. Most of us are very busy at this time of year and so I'm not going to complain about that and besides, I really don't mind Christmas busy. However, this year, I've the added busy of promoting my next book...

Baby, You're Cold Inside!

Coming to your computer December, 21/12!

I suppose I kick off my promo tour this Friday when I'll be participating  in

There are over a 140 authors participating in this Christmas Blog Hop, so when you have time, hop around and enter the various draws for great prizes. I fear I still don't have any fancy swag in my possession, but I will be giving away one free copy of Baby, You're Cold Inside

The rest of my blog tour dates, there will probably be more, are as follows:

December, 21/12: Release Day for Baby, You're Cold Inside!  I will be here, on Ivy B Misbehavin, chatting about how great this book is and why you should buy it. :) However, I will also be at Linda's Kage's Blog Page. Once again, Linda is hosting me on release day and I couldn't be more pleased.

December, 22/12: Allie A Burrow, for a promo post and a giveaway too!

December, 22/12: I'll be dropping the erotic writer's website Behind Closed Doors and to do a little promo on their blog The Erotic Connection.

December, 24/12:  My editor for Baby, You're Cold Inside, D. F. Krieger, is having a giveaway on her blog, D.F. Krieger's Writing Escapes, for all the Christmas books she's edited this year and more. Therefore, my ebook and many other Breathless Press Christmas ebooks will be part of this day before Christmas giveaway.

And then I take a wee break for holiday cheer and will return on...

January, 3/12: This date I will be on the Breathless Press Blog...or rather, the heroine of Baby, You're Cold Inside, Lily Sinclair, will be. She's a busy woman and yet she somehow managed to squeeze in a character interview for you all.

January, 4/13: Raven McAllan's blog Raven's Ramblings. I'm stopping by Raven's blog for promo and a guest post.

January, 8/13: Mary Corrales, Romance Author Lifestyle. I'll be stopping by Mary's blog and doing as I'm doing at Raven's: for a bit of promo along with a guest post.

January, 22/13: Dawn Roberto will be interviewing me on her blog Dawn's Reading Nook.

I have it on good authority that sometime soon I will be interviewed on Lee Brazil's blog, Lee's Musings, but I'm not 100% sure of the date so I will keep you posted.

And way, way, way in the future...Ok...on Friday, February, 15th, 2013, which is only 2 months and 5 days away, I will be interviewed on Joyfully Reviewed. That day is going to be a very special and significant day for me, but I'll talk more about that in the New Year.

And, that my Sweet Bee's is that. I really must get on with my Christmas cards now.

Until next time,

Ivy B wishing you holiday cheer

Ivy B Back on the BP Blog Tour

Hello Sweet Bees

And greetings to you on this snowy Thursday. Well, it's snowing where I am. Not a lot, but enough to remind us that winter is near and that means Christmas is coming. Am I ready? Ha! Ha! Ha!

That would be a big no. Now that I've completed Nanowritmo 2012 (yea me!) it's time for me to put on my Santa hat and get in the Christmas groove. I usually start with getting my Christmas cards out and then work on decorating, but this year I was so wrapped up in Nano, that the time to write out cards just didn't happen. There is however, a tree in our living room with lights half on it and half on the floor...I should probably get that in order before I do anything else.

So why though, for the half lit tree? Well, you see I'm a genius, or so I thought. I love Christmas trees, but I really don't like putting light on them and so for the last couple of years, I've managed to put away my tree with the lights still on it. Christmas seasons comes, I haul the tree upstairs, pull down the branches and I'm halfway to Christmas. But this year, when I brought up the tree and plugged in the lights, my annoyance rose to the surface immediately as I observed that the middle strand of lights had decided to not join in the fun this year...The Middle Strand!

I life is rough. Anyway, I need to re-strand the whole thing but because I loath the lighting portion of tree time I've been procrastinating in a major way, like right now for instance. I didn't have to write a long blog post to let you know that today, the Breathless Press Blog Tour is stopping by at

But if I leave the computer, the tree will ensnare me, quite literally which is one reason I keep putting it off. The twisty branches are scratchy and always get caught in my sweater...again...I know my life is fraught with Christmas peril....poor Ivy.

Ok, Ok, I'll quit my whining and go be festive and decorate. You in the mean time, should please stop by and say hello to Tawania and if you haven't done so already at another tour stop, check out the great Breathless Press Books this weeks Blog Tour.

A big thank-you to Tawania for hosting us today and another thank-you to BP and Goddess Fish for setting it up.

Until tomorrow Sweet Bees,

Ivy B getting caught up in the Christmas spirit

Ivy B on Blog Tour Break

Hello and Happy Wednesday Sweet Bees

Well, today the Breathless Press Blog Tour is taking a wee break. We were scheduled to make a stop at

but it appears that Alyson, who runs the site, is very sick and was unable to host us today. Poor thing. I hope she'll be up and at them soon.

So instead, as my coffee works it's way through my system and my hands slowly come to life, let's talk about "BIIIIIIIRRRRDMAN!"

"What?" You ask.
 "Who?" You ask.
And if know what or who I am talking about you may asking "Why on this day would you want to talk about a Hanna Barbera Cartoon about a superhero who's kind of like Hawkman from the DC comic universe, but is a lot less cool?"

I'll tell you why because last year my brother gave my husband a suitcase full of DVDs (and that's not a metaphor or an exaggeration, he really did give him a suitcase full of DVDs). Amongst this suitcase collection were a few movies, but mainly the abundant haul in his suitcase contained full seasons of TV's series including all 6 seasons of the George Reeves Superman Series. It's pretty sweet, if you can handle the Lois that comes in on season two...I miss first season Lois.  Anyway in this particular Superman series, Superman doesn't mess around. He's not like Smallville Superman who has to weigh all his punching maneuvers against his moral code and then have a long discussion about trust or honesty with Lana or Lex. No, George Reeves's Superman was all about business. If there was a wall to break through and a guy to punch beyond the wall, he got the job done. He just walked in a did it. Boom! Lights out evil doers! Time to save Lois and oh...of course Jimmy. Jimmy why, in so many episodes, do I find you bound in some way? It's almost as if you like to be tied up...Sweetness.

So, yes, brought forth from the magic suitcase were a few live action TV series, but most of them were cartoon TV series which was/is totally cool. I like cartoons. Some of them a great deal. One of my favourties is Samuri Jack. Wow. Talk about a guy who doesn't mess around, plus the animation is incredible and the backgrounds are gorgeous. However some of cartoons are...well...I'm a very visual person and if I don't like the character design, if it's creepy or just plain awful, I have trouble watching it. Cheesy dialogue is painful too and cartoons with laugh tracks?  Gah...just chuck me under a bus now! It would hurt less! So, for example I just...I just can't watch Johnny Quest. It's too...stilted and often makes no sense and when the writers wanted to take a smoke break or go work on their great American novel, the scene will be filled with the whacky antics of Bandit (a dog) entertaining Johnny and Haji while Dr. Quest and his shirtless friend Rex something or other take off in shark infested waters to hunt down the evil jelly fish enslavers...or whatever. Actually, what's really funny about Johnny Quest is that my husband, if he's tired, can't get through an episode. He's says that the show is like a cup of warm milk. If he's having trouble sleeping, his remedy is often a cup of Johnny. He'll put on an episode and 9 times out of 10, he'll wake up with the menu on.  I'm usually writhing in "good gravy this is the worst show ever" agony to find anything soothing about Johnny Quest and his whacky gang of sidekicks.

Wow...I've strayed....back to "Birdman". Last evening, my husband was partaking of an episode or two of this ridiculous show about a man who has wings, who wears a mustard coloured cowl, is solar powered and hangs out with a blue, squawking eagle named Avenger who often glares at Birdman as though he would like to no longer be his faithful sidekick, but would rather rip Birdman's flesh from his bones and bring it home to his wife as a gift; a wife he ever gets to see,who is raising his children, or eaglests, he'll never know because he's stuck being Birdman's lackie.

Birdman's powers, are all "solar" related in some way. He can shoot solar powered rays or bullets or fireballs from his hands and melt things or patch things up or blow things up and apprently, his solar power can break the impact of mind control! I know eh? Shocking! Even Mentok the Mind Taker was baffled at this turn of events! When Birdman, uses his solar power rays to helps save Avenger from it's mental grip, Mentok actually looks at the screen and says "Birdman's solar rays have broken through my mind powers, but how?" And when Avenger rescues Birdman for the evil grips of Mentok's Mind Control, by carrying Birdman to great heights to be near the sun and recharge his solar engery, the mind power is broken and again you get NO explantion! None! It's just how it is.

So, when we had finished watching the episode, I turned to my husband we had this conversation:

Me: "So, Birdman's solar powers can stop mind control?"
S: "Apprently."
Me: "But how?"
S: "Well...if someone is using mind control on you, solar power can stop it."
Me: "Ok, but how?"
S: "I just told you. When you apply solar power to mind control, it stops it."

I don't think he knows either...Sigh...I guess it's one of the mysteries of the cartoon universe that will never be least for me anyway. I'm sure there are forums filled with explanations as to how this mind control can be defeated by solar powers.

So, I'm leaving you now. Don't be sad. The blog tour should be back on tomorrow and I'll return with another fantastic and terribly interesting post to go with Thursday's blog tour day.

Until tomorrow,

Ivy B finishing off her Nanonovel and wondering if you will take the time to find out how mind powers can be defeated by solar powers.

I stayed up WAY TOO LATE last night watching "Angel" on DVD (gotta love a brooding vampire)and I slept in later than I should of and now I'm running late. Ivy B at the start of the blog tour!

Good Monday to you Sweet Bees

Did you all have a nice weekend? Mine weekend was quite busy and productive. Well...Saturday wasn't terribly productive, unless you count taking a over an hour to curl your hair only to have it fall out of its curl within another hour because your hair is too straight, productive. So, why the time spent on my hair? It was my husband's office Christmas party on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun. I live in fairly small town so no matter where I go, chances are good that I will know someone. And I did. Not only does the sister of a friend of mine work with my husband (and she did last year a different job...and I saw her at that Christmas party too...should I be worried?? ;] ) but her husband was the DJ and he sold me our car. Small town connections amuse me.

Anyhoo, I LOVE to dance and I'm not saying I'm awesome, but I have it on good authority that I'm awesome. A few people told my husband that. He even offered me to one of his co-workers, but she's already in a relationship with another lass and so had to pass me up. Poor thing. But back to me and my awesome dancing...the only problem with going out once a year to dance and rock out full tilt for over 2 and half hours with reckless abandon and all the rhythm of an overcharged jellyfish is that you pay for it later. Well, I do anyway. The party was 2 days ago and I'm still sore. Shoulders, neck, calves...but it was worth it. Plus, I showed everyone there that I meant business when I put my no longer curled hair up in a pony tail and kicked my shoes off! I believe I said to my friend's sister...

"I've got my hair up and my shoes off. I ain't kidding around! I am ready to throw down with you people bee-atch."  Did I mention I'd had almost a full bottle of wine?

So, all this rambling about my one night of dancing like a mad fool has almost left me forgetting about my point which is that today is a start of the Breathless Press Blog tour that I'm very happy to be a part of. The first two stops on the tour for our gang are....

And so I'd like to thank

And Breathless Press for setting this up! Hopefully it will be a great way to bring people over to the Ivy side. I can always use more Sweet Bees. So, stop on by the tour spots. I believe if you hit them all, you'll be entered in a contest for a gift card from Breathless Press.

And to wrap up this blog entry, which was much longer than I had intended, Sunday, when I was not hobbling around the house, I managed to do a character interview for the Breathless Press Blog, do another wee post for a fellow Breathless Press Author and play catch up on my Nano 2012 story. I was two days behind so that's 3300 words to do, but I managed. If you're interested in reading something TOTALLY RIDICULOUS and not spicy, check out my Nano story page.

With that, I'm going to buzz off.

Until tomorrow,

Ivy B feeling a little bit silly today

Ivy B Tagging Linda Kage

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you my Sweet Bees

This will be a quick entry partly because I meant to write it last night and I forgot and now I'm in a hurry because I'm sitting in my robe and I need to get out the door in about a half hour AND I've only had half a cup of coffee and coffee helps the brain bits think and my hands go, which is a process that takes about 2 cups of coffee AND this post really isn't about me!

Last Wednesday I played "The Next Big Thing" and as I mentioned in my post I tagged the wonderful author Linda Kage to be my victim, I mean, to play tag with me. So, be sure to be good little Sweet Bees and buzz on over to Linda's blog to find out about one of her Works in Progress "Cry".

And that is all for me today. I'm off to finish my coffee and then go drink more coffee with a friend when I meet her for breakfast. I should probably get dressed though...they may not let me into the diner if I'm still wearing my oh so dashing fuzzy and sheddy red robe paired with flannel jammie bottoms with snowmen running rampant on them. However, they may not care. Many people around here have  penchant for leaving their homes on purpose in their pj bottoms and Ugs.  I could rant, but I'll just let that statement hang there.

Until next time,

Ivy B wishing all her American Sweet Bee's a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Ivy B the "Next Big Thing"?

Hello and Good Wednesday to you, My Sweet Bees

It's hard to believe that we're almost at mid-November. A year ago at this time, I was working on my line edits for my first eBook, Breathless Press release. That book, Between the Lines, was released in January 2012. And now, here I am, less than a year later, talking about what will be my third eBook to come to internet shelves this year. It's really been a great year for me, writing wise.

Now, going around author blogs these days is a little questionnaire, called, "The Next Big Thing". The object is to answer questions about a work in progress. Now, I'm not sure if my next eBook fits that bill, (I shouldn't be negative! Yes! It will be! So there!) but I was tagged by fellow Breathless Press Author, Gayl Taylor and decided it would be fun to participate it. Be sure to check out Gayl's "The Next Big Thing" from last week on her blog "She Dreams."

So, here you answers for "The Next Big Thing".

What is the working title of your book?

Baby, You're Cold Inside (and I'm not so much working on it as I am in the editing stage).

Where did the idea come from for the book?

My husband actually helped me come up with it. Breathless Press put a call out for Christmas stories, or holiday stories, and I said yes even though I didn't have an idea and it was 9 days until they needed the stories in!

What genre does your book fall under?

Paramormal Erotica I suppose would be the best description.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?

Maybe Lily Sinclair, my female lead character, could be played by Maggie Gyllenhaal or Anne Hathaway...someone who would have a lot of fun playing a really cold, successful and powerful woman. For my male lead character, perhaps if Tom Hiddleston or Michael Fassbender are free, either of them would be lovely as Phillip.

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book?

Just because you're cold doesn't mean you can't make things hot.

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?

My publisher for this book, like my other 2 eBooks, is Breathless Press.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Once I got cracking, 4 days.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I'm afraid I really don't know...I honestly haven't read any sexy Christmas tales. However, in December, quite a few Breathless Press authors will be releasing holiday inspried, saucy Christmas tales so after December, I'll be better equipped to answer this question. :)

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

I didn't have a book on the go and was in want of a project so the inspiration was really "Why not?"

What else about your book might interest the reader?

This book is based, loosely, on A Christmas Carol. If readers are fans of that holiday favorite, they may enjoy comparing the two. And even if they aren't, that's ok too! My version has a whole lot more sauce and a lot less guilt.

And there you have it, answers to "The Next Big Thing" regarding my work in progress. Now...who should I tag...ah yes...I tag Linda Kage!

This wonderful author has agreed to play along and so be sure to visit Linda's Blog on Wednesday, November 21st and find out why one of her Works in Progress will be"The Next Big Thing".

Until next time,
Ivy B wondering if any of you are working on "The Next Big Thing."!

Ivy B Having a Nano Adventure

Good morning Sweet Bees

I hope that all of you are having a lovely Sunday. In my neck of the woods it's a bit of a grim Sunday and I just had an argument with my daughter so not only am I feeling oppressed by the closeness of the dark clouds, I'm also feeling like "Mother of the Year!". Ha, Ha! Wonderful way to start a Sunday...

But, let's shake this mood off and get on with the happy.

I've a few things I'd like to chat about this morning, the first to do with the title of the blog posting. Yes, it's the time of year again, it's Nano Time. I'm participating this year and for fun I'm going to blog my writings. This will help me to feel like I'm doing something for someone because I actually work better when I think that maybe at least one person will read my work. I love to write, I really do, but I've never been the kind of writer that can write "just because" or "just for me". The funny thing is that I don't even need to know in the end if someone actually has read my work. It's just the idea that somebody might that helps keep my writing fires burning.

Ok, so here's a link for you  Ivy's Un-Spicy 2012 Nano Novel.

If you're in the mood for something a little weird and very, very silly, than this novel is for you. It's very much NOT in the erotic vein and so maybe has no place on this blog, but not only am I an erotic fiction writer, I also write pieces the whole family can enjoy.

I will be posting often on this page, so take a gander from time to time and dive into the weird side of Ivy...or weirder anyway...

So, in other topics, last Monday I was listening to Q, CBC  radio and Jian was chatting with...sigh...John Taylor of Duran Duran. I say...sigh...because this man do I put this without sounding super lame...When I was about 11 or 12 I developed a huge crush on Michael J. Fox. He was so adorable and cute and talented and Canadian; how could I not want to plaster my room with his pictures! And, although I still carry a torch for MJF, the crush was definitely, then as now, on the innocent side.

However, John Taylor (whose name, as it turns out, is actually Nigel Taylor), brought out the more "womanly" or let's face it, "sexual" crush like feelings that eventually a girl experiences. This monumental event happened one afternoon when I got home from school and flipped on Much Music. The movie 91/2 weeks had just come out and John Taylor had released a solo piece "I do what I do" for the soundtrack. In the video, he's sitting in a dark, smokey theatre, observing the antics of Kim and Mickey on the screen and while I was watching the video, boom - I felt odd. I'm not sure why John and why then. I'd been a Duran Duran fan for a a while and hadn't given him much thought, but perhaps it was the look on his face, or his voice...or the shadowy way he as being filmed...but whatever it was, this crush was very different than the one I had for MJF.

Now,  you may be thinking that "the feelings" had more to do with the scenes from 9 1/2 weeks shown in the video or Mickey, but believe me when I say blah. Mickey R has all the appeal for me as nails on a chalkboard and years later when I saw the movie, I was more appalled by the atrocious acting than turned on by the doings on screen. No, it was John all they way and so when I heard him on the radio, promoting his biographical novel, I giggled and clapped my hands, had a little trip to the past all while my husband grinned at me.

For my last topic, and it's brief so no worries. You'll be released to your Sunday very soon, I'll just say a quick, one day late,  Happy Birthday to the man who was my muse for Between the Lines. And that's all I'll say about that because if his stand up has any bit of truth in it, he would be mortified that I used him as a muse for that book.

Until next time,
Ivy B is wondering if you remember your first crush.

Ivy B Handing Over Her Blog to Mary Corrales

Hello my Sweet Bee's

And welcome to the second Friday in a row where I have an author and friend here to visit at Ivy B Misbehavin'!

Today we have the lovely and talented Mary Corrales with us. We met over the interwebs at the beginning of the year due to both of us being Breathless Press Authors.  However, it was only in the last couple months that we've gotten to know each other and it's been really great getting to know Mary.

I'm a fan of her work. It's very sexy, intoxicating and otherworldly and I'm very to have her play on my blog. Today Mary is here today to talk with you about Vampires and Demons and how they play in her world of erotic fiction.

Mary, my blog is all yours...

While walking to your car at night, do you ever feel eyes upon you? We, as mortals, resist the urge to glance back, afraid of what we might see, and most times it's perhaps nothing more than our imagination. The crisp October air and early onset of night, reminds us that the world is sliding toward a mystical hour on October 31st. So, what lurks on those moonless nights and what should we know before we look behind us?

Vampires are especially active during the autumn months. The extended night allows them longer hunting hours. Of course, one knows that vampires do not live by blood alone. No, pleasure is another way they feed. Elder vampires do not feed as often and some lose their interest in existence entirely. Luckily, for Vampire master, Vladislas, he finds renewed interest in all things pumping while…

Blurb for Tasting Camilla

Camilla Ivanov never dreams that being kidnapped by a group of vampires will lead to the most erotic sexual encounter of her life. Vladislas is a vampire Master bored with life until Camilla’s blood awakens his deepest hungers. Locked together in a basement, who is the true captive?

Vampire bounty hunter, Brandt, just betrayed his best friend, Camilla, to vampires. Vampiress, Elisa, gives herself to Brandt in payment for awakening her master, Vladislas, but will Brandt take much more than her body from her?

Half-blood demons are perhaps the most desire-stricken of all demons, for they must live in the mortal world with immortally dark urges. Some give in to these urges for blood, sex and power, while others battle their demonic side; afraid to lose themselves to the needs raging through them. They are most vulnerable to the lure of these urges in October when the veil between the mortal and immortal worlds thin.

An example of a half-blood demon is the Cambion. Most would not know, but this is a half-blood sex demon. This demon typically has a succubus mother and mortal father. Rare though it may be—conceptions do occur with varying results. Ren Aloysius is a prime example of this type of hypersexual demon, so I invite you to a peek behind the silk curtain in order to better understand…

Blurb for Love's Demon Ways

Alexine Coridan is lonely and unlucky in love. Vowing to live her life with no more regrets, she decides to have a one-night stand with the Nightfall Art Gallery’s reclusive owner, Ren Aloysius, but is he more than she is looking for?

What forces will be unleashed when she sheds her inhibitions for a man who promises ecstasy with just one touch?

Ren blinked, lowering his gaze as his demonic senses focused on Alexine. Sadly, she understood nothing of what she hoped for. The murals on the walls weren’t tributes to fantastic lovers but memorials to the dead. Cambion demons like himself got intense pleasure from denying a woman sexual satisfaction. So long as he didn’t ejaculate inside a woman, she would suffer from sexual need to the point she’d become an utter slave to him until her death.

Much like a perverse fairy tale, the only way for a lover to survive was through an intense mutual orgasm. A moment suspended in time where his demonic side was tamed by the force of a Femina Divine, or blessed female. Such a female was then believed to become somewhat demon herself, by the acceptance of his sperm into her body. The perfect mate to a Cambion.

Alexine turned in his arms, pressing herself fully against him. Although she hungered for him, somehow he sensed she withheld a deeper part of herself from him. These secrets he would have soon enough as her mind flooded his with his initial penetration. A niggling of warning drifted on the outskirts of his awareness, but meant nothing to him. What could there be about her that might hurt him? Nothing.

“It will be as you desire. If at any time I do not please you, we will stop. Agreed?” A pretty lie to reassure her. His demonic side grinned.

A fertile female and a near full moon. His demonic side nearly howled in victory. He sealed his mouth over hers in a scorching kiss, immersing himself fully in his demonic nature for the feeding to come. She moaned into his mouth, her short nails digging into his shoulders.

So, the next time you go out at night will you look behind you to find what watches you from the shadows? If you feeling horny perhaps you will. After all, what's life without a little taste of those darker pleasures which seek just a taste of our mortal essence?
